My wife, Sarah and I chose to save money for our honeymoon by having a very simple wedding. Needless to say, both our mothers weren’t very happy about our decision, but thankfully, we’re adults and our wedding was going to be how we wanted it. We saved money on our wedding so we could have enough stashed up for the honeymoon of our dreams in Morocco.
For the longest time, Sara and I have always admired the vibrant colors and the lively atmosphere of Marrakech whenever we had the opportunity to see it on the TV or in a travel magazine. It was no wonder we both had the same idea for our honeymoon destination. No need to grouse on that topic. We also mutually agreed that we wanted this trip to be extremely memorable. We wanted it filled with romance, adventure and a sprinkling of luxury.
To do that, we opted for a car hire Marrakech. Not just any car, but a Mercedes Benz C-Class Cabriolet convertible.
Choosing the right rental company
This part of the planning process wasn’t as straightforward as we would have liked. We searched for a suitable car rental marketplace online, but most of them didn’t seem to satisfy our criteria. Either their fleets weren’t diverse enough for our taste, or their prices were through the roof. Their prices made me think: We might as well buy ourselves the car if you’re going to make us pay that much for it for a few days.
I decided to ask a friend of mine who recently immigrated from Morocco, and he didn’t miss a beat when he answered “OneClickDrive”. Seeing as I had nothing to lose, I went ahead to check them out.
OneClickDrive had a very user-friendly website with so many types of cars to select from. There were compact cars, SUVs, hybrid and electric cars, and of course, luxury cars. They had them all and at such friendly prices.
Booking was also pretty stress free. I got in contact with the supplier, and was done with the whole thing within minutes. I had chosen the airport as the pickup location
The moroccan experience with our convertible
Once we got the car after our arrival, we wasted no time in bringing the top down to feel the city’s energy. There really is something about driving with the wind in your hair that makes convertibles so appealing. It was made all the better knowing my newly wedded wife was sharing this experience with me with matching amounts of pure joy and excitement.
Barring the excessive details, we had so much fun in Marrakech. Our first stop was the Jardin Majorelle. This garden is a hidden oasis in the heart of Marrakech with an ambience that makes it feel like a dream. We also visited the Atlas mountains. The drive up the winding mountain road was thrilling, and the views from the top were more than captivating.
It didn’t end there, though. We spent a good portion of each day driving from one restaurant to the next, enjoying authentic Moroccan cuisine and eating until we couldn’t stomach another delicious bite. We went shopping in the souks and went on serene night time drives around the city.
Looking back at it all, I can’t possibly imagine our honeymoon without the ease our rented convertible provided us. Renting a car from OneClickDrive gave us access to the city and places beyond without feeling restricted by group schedules or overly crowded tourist routes. I would most definitely recommend OneClickDrive’s Morocco car rental services to anyone coming to visit Morocco.
